I’m raw. A little rough around the edges. I’m about to leave behind the biggest sense of structure and be thrown headfirst into the adult world. I sometimes feel like a five year old running with a soccer ball, armed only with a vague idea of which way I’m supposed to be going and a lot of adults giving conflicting advice from the sidelines. Yeah… oof. 

But, I’m young. I may be raw, but there’s a lot of potential. As my riding instructor used to tell me when she tossed me onto the horse who’d just bucked his kid off, “You’re young. You’ll bounce.” 

And she was right. Sure, I had a few bumps and bruises. One time, I even had a two inch splinter of wood imbedded in my leg after I was thrown into a fence. But I bounced back up. 

I recognize that in this industry, I’m going to be covered in metaphorical bumps and bruises as I get to work. But I’m young. I’ll bounce. And I’ll be all the better copywriter for it. Because I, quite literally, always end up back on the horse.
